Nike CJ81 Trainer Max

A toast to the new NFL season!

What's good people? I know you're still reeling after my XI Breds post from last week, but I gotta hit you with something current! Since the NFL season has officially started, wanted this post to be something football related. Presenting to you, the Calvin Johnson "CJ" 81 Trainer Max!! Now these I fell in love with the first time I saw them online. Not sure if you know this by now, but I'm a sucker for a fusion shoe, which means they have elements of old school/new school to them. Even though they are jam packed with features, they are actually a super light weight shoe ideal for cross-training. The metallic cobalt finish glimmers in the sun, but don't let them fool you these shoes were made for work. Responsive bottoms and a velcro lock down strap, these shoes form to your feet and don't weigh you down. Favorite features would be the metallic finish, ocean blue ice bottoms, and the wonderful patterns and textures woven into this shoe. Definitely an interesting piece that I don't think really caught on, but any shoe head can appreciate the architecture. Check out the pics below and let me know what you think! Always open to comments/feedback.

Notice all the textures and colors woven into the shoe.

What's a signature shoe without a signature?

Ice bottoms as blue as the ocean.

The reflective metallic paint finish shimmers in the sun!

Ode to Calvin Johnson, one of the best in the game

As the title of the shoe indicates, this is Calvin Johnson's signature shoe. CJ81 has been rocking it the last few years, averaging over 1,300 yards a season and hauling in 66 touchdowns over the course of his 7 year career. Standing at 6'5" with a 6-foot-10 wingspan and 43 inch vertical, this guy was made for destroying double teams in the red zone. Please see some pics of him below in his shoe doing work.

Even though this is the spiked version, you get the idea.
