Nike Zoom KD X "Celebration"

NBA's Most Unguardable Player

What's good fam? It's been about a year since I've posted, but believe me the train don't stop and I've got some heat for y'all! For all you Bay Area fans, I know you'll enjoy this post. Let me present to you the Nike Zoom KD X "Celebration"! Now I wasn't able to cop these at first, but ever since I saw KD hit the game winning three on LeBron in Game 3 of the NBA Finals I had to cop this. After a week and a half after their release, I broke my cardinal rule and for the first time bought shoes through re-sale. If you know me, you know I hate the re-sell game as peeps are just trying to make a quick buck and don't even care about the kicks they buy. Nevertheless, I coughed up the $$$ and got this pair. Absolutely no regrets as these are the cleanest pair and hold an important part in Bay Area sports history.

To be completely honest, this pair isn't exactly the same as the ones KD wore during the NBA Finals (slightly different colorway), but are the closest that any normal consumer can get their hands on. These kicks are super comfortable, w/ a woven sock feel to them and the laces are purely decorative. The flex ankle socklet gives it a nice touch, and the deep blue definitely turns heads when I hit the streets in them. Truly a timeless pair w/ a slight flair to rock w/ anything, but always goes well w/ a Dubs jersey.

Gold foil box makes is a nice touch.

Black dustbag to keep them fresh.

Clear bottoms w/ blue and gold accents.

MVP MVP MVP!

The wrath of the "Slim Reaper"

Kevin Durant has arguably become the most controversial figure in the NBA over the last two years as he departed the OKC Thunder after they blew a 3-1 series lead against the Golden State Warriors in the 2016 NBA playoffs. As everybody knows he joined the Dubs and was deemed a "traitor, snake, cop-out, loser" for making a decision to join them during free agency. Personally, I love that he joined MY team as the culture w/ the Dubs suits his demeanor more, and OKC never seemed like a great place to play w/ Russell Westbrook constantly battling him as the alpha dog. Nevertheless, KD fit into the system perfectly here in the Bay Area, raising his defensive intensity to a new level.

The pressure was squarely on his shoulders to win a ring that year or be considered a bust for joining a new team. In the Finals, he tore through the Cavaliers by averaging 35.2 points, 8.2 rebounds, 5.4 assists, and 1.6 blocks during the five game series. Simply unstoppable, KD's shining moment happened when he rose up to hit the game winning three over LeBron in Game 3 of the Finals. A cold-blooded shot, only reserved for the greats of this game, KD rose to the occasion. He was crowned the MVP of the Finals and cemented his legacy in Warriors lore. Only time will tell how many more accolades he will achieve during his stint w/ the Dubs, but I can't wait to see what's next.
