Air Jordan Retro VII "French Blues"

Air Jordans with a French twist

If I said I wasn't excited about this pair, I'd be totally lying. To me, it's not about the hype, the price, or what people are saying about them; I buy them for me. In regards to this pair, I've wanted this one since I was in high school when it dropped in 2002, and it's great to finally have it as part of my collection. Introducing to you, the Air Jordan VII "French Blues"! To the eye they look like a simple pair of shoes, but the beauty is always in the details my friend. With its french blue and flint grey accents, this shoe exhibits a balance of simplicity and uniqueness. From its asymmetrical tongues, pure white bodies, and triangular "23" donned on the back of the shoes, this shoe is unquestionably a classic. Please check out the pics below and see for yourself!

Can't never go wrong with the side profile view.

This polygonal design is so clean, clearly screams 1990's.

Asymmetrical design giving it a unique look.

Just in case you don't know whose shoe it is.

1992: The Man, The Dream Team, The King

1992 was a huge year for Michael. With a ring under his belt, he came out just as hungry to defend his crown. Averaging a ridiculous 30.1 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 6.1 assists on 52% shooting, Michael was named MVP of the league (while also capturing the scoring title), but he was far from done. Michael and his Bulls went on to win the NBA title in 1992 against the Trailblazers in a 6 game battle. In Game 1, Michael was simply unstoppable, leading to the famous "MJ shrug" as he didn't even know what was going on. He would also capture the Finals MVP that year finishing out that series on another ridiculous stat line of 32.3 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 6.5 assist on 52.6% shooting. Although the accolades were stacked up from an NBA perspective, Michael would soon take part on one of his most memorable teams in the history of basketball and perhaps, all of sports.

Why not?

We see you Mike.

How about a fadeaway? Buckets.

The famous shrug when Michael was unstoppable in Game 1 of the Finals.

1992 was the year that professionals in the game of basketball were allowed to play in the Olympics and we would never look back. The stage was set for an explosion that the world had never seen the likes of before. As the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame called it the "greatest collection of basketball talent on the planet", only mere mortals could ever dream of such a collection of players; names like Magic, Bird, Robinson, Ewing, Stockton, Malone, Barkley, and of course Michael. The talent gap and tenacity was just overpowering for a young basketball world, as the Dream Team destroyed other teams by an average margin of 44 points. Devastating dunks, razzle-dazzle passing, and the star power that only a galaxy could contain, the Dream Team was almost unbelievable. Capturing the gold at the end was a given, and the team was forever cemented in basketball history and will probably never be repeated ever again. Since 1992, the basketball world has finally caught up with the U.S., and they can thank the Dream Team for setting the bar so high. Michael was of course the center piece of this team, and he did it all in his Air Jordan VII's. Please see the pics below!

  1. The history of the shoes is amazing, 2nd Championship and Dream Team! No wonder Jordan VII's are hot! The best part other than Jordan tearing up the Trailblazers and the World is the captions below the pictures. Lol. Keep it up, youngsta!

    1. I never fully appreciated the Air Jordan VII's until I did my research on them. I knew he won the 1992 Olympics in them, but the history is undeniable! Haha I'm glad you like the captions, trying to keep it fresh and entertaining, which is part of the whole experience of reading my blog. Thanks man, I'll keep the hits on coming!
