Nike CJ81 Trainer Max "Megatrons"

More Than Meets the Eye!

As a collector, I feel every pair has its own story and meaning to me, which means my collection is very unique. There may be a couple pairs I picked up on a whim, but most I've either wanted as a kid or have a special connection to. There's always a story to every pair.

Now the pair below is something really special to me as it combines my love of shoes and my favorite cartoon of all time, Transformers. Introducing to you, the Nike CJ81 Trainer Max "Megatrons"! You may remember my post regarding the original colorway of the CJ81s, but this pair has a life of its own. The shoe is a great tribute to Megatron, who is the leader of the Decepticons (bad guys) in the series. The details are spot on regarding this pair, with the original colors and grid patterns like the box the toys used to come in. Of course, it's can't be a Megatron shoe without the famous Decepticon insignia. I wore these to WonderCon and I absolutely loved them. Please check out the pics below!

Nice profile view.

Decepticons!

More Decepticon logos with the gray grid patterns.

Megatron would agree with that.

Clear icy soles on this pair.

This is the toy that came with the shoes!

Megatron, the leader of the Decepticons

For those of you who don't know, Transformers is a popular cartoon from the 1980's, where two factions of an alien robot race fight for peace (Autobots) and the other for mayhem/destruction (Decepticons). Megatron is the Decepticon's fearless leader, whose ruthlessness and lack of conscience makes him one not to be messed with. Within the last few years, the Transformers have been blowing up due to the live action films that starred Shia Labeouf. It's nice to see that mainstream audiences are growing to appreciate the characters and the storyline as this series was one of my favorite growing up. Please see the pics below!

Air Jordan XI Retro "Legend Blues" aka "The Elsas"

"As cool as the other side of the pillow"

What's up shoeheads? Just wanted to pay homage to the late Stuart Scott who I've admired and enjoyed watching on ESPN throughout the years. He was entertaining, he was genuine, and most importantly it seemed he was a great man too. RIP Stu, Boo-yah!

Now that I've got that off my chest, I wanted to introduce to you the hottest (or coldest) shoe of the year, the Air Jordan XI Retro "Legend Blues" aka "The Elsas". Now you're probably wondering why I call them "The Elsas". If you've seen the movie Frozen, you'll remember that Elsa is the Snow Queen, and this pair is definitely ice cold! Haha so now you know. I've been waiting on this pair for months, and I was lucky enough to cop a pair of my own in December. As similar to my posts on the Space Jams, Breds, and Concords, the XI's are a one-of-a-kind shoe. The glacier blue ice frosting the bottoms, the all-white patent leather and white upper, and of course the blue Jumpman symbol makes this pair a MUST HAVE in any shoehead's collection. Can't wait to rock these as you can wear these with virtually anything since these shoes literally speak for themselves. No deadstock here people, these shoes will be hitting the pavement very soon! Please check out the pics below, and please no drooling, not a good look!

Look at that backside!

Perfection.

Blue like the polar ice caps.

White as snow.

You know I love the backshot!

Stitched Jumpman of course.

Long view.

Elsa keeping my kicks frozen haha.

Love the perspective shot.

Cold as ice.

MVP is back in action!

Michael had just came back to the NBA after his first retirement stint, and this was his first full season back. He was there to prove to everyone that he still had it after a taking a year and a half off to pursue his dream of playing baseball. As mentioned in my previous XI posts, it became a historic season for Michael and his Bulls and they would never look back. Everyone was looking forward to seeing Michael in the All-Star Game, and he put on quite a show while also debuting the Air Jordan XI "Columbias" aka "Legend Blues". He went on to score 20 points and take MVP honors for the game, but also let the whole world know that Michael was back. They would win 3 straight championships, and the rest is history. Please check the pics below to see Michael rocking the "Columbias".

Goofy no-look pass haha.

My favorite NBA slogan.
