Air Jordan X Retro "Chicago" aka "Double Nickel"

"I'm Back"

What's going on my fellow shoeheads??? I know it's been quite a while since I last posted, but I got some real heat for you here. Introducing to you, the Air Jordan X Retro "Chicago" aka "Double Nickel"! Now I know the XI's, the III's, and even the V's are more coveted than the X's, but you can't deny the history or style of this shoe. You can't go wrong with the classic red and black, not to mention Michael's "45" etched on the side when he came out of retirement back into the league. Very stylish with the mix of black and white with red accents makes this shoe a definite head turner! Now if anyone is ever looking at the bottom of these shoes, they have something to read as Michael's accomplishments before 1994 were ingrained into the outsole of the shoe. Come check out the pics below!

Michael could've stopped in 1994 and STILL be a Hall of Famer.

March 18th, 1995

Michael Jordan had hung up his number "23" and was trying to make his way in major league baseball. A number of factors led him back to the NBA, but we can all be honest here and say that Michael WAS the NBA. After a long year and a half without Michael, on March 18th, 1995, Michael announced with the simplest two words in a press release about his return to the NBA: "I'm back". The Air Jordan X were already in production at the time with the Steel Grey colorway. According to history, Michael hated the extra piece of leather on the toe, which was swiftly removed when the other colorways when they were introduced. With Michael coming back to the league under such short notice, he donned the infamous "45" as his "23" had to be un-retired from the Chicago Bulls. The Air Jordan X were graced as being the shoe Michael wore during his return to the NBA, but that's not where it stopped (actually far from it).

There were many doubts in everyone's mind if Michael still had it in him to play at the elite level where he once was. All doubts were laid to rest during his fifth game back in the NBA. As if written in a fairytale, Michael displayed his mastery and talent in Madison Square Garden, scoring 55 points on his arch-rival New York Knicks. Michael was home where he belonged, on the hardwood. Although he would finish off that year losing against the Orlando Magic in the Eastern Conference Finals, Michael and this shoe signified that he was back and was ready to take back what was his. The rest is history, as Michael would win 3 consecutive championships after 1995 and cement his legacy as one of the greatest basketball players of all time. Please check out the pics below of Michael wearing the Air Jordan X during his return to the NBA!
