Air Jordan Retro XIV "Black Toes"

Bringing you down memory lane...

What is up my fellow shoeheads? I told y'all I'd bring you some heat, and it definitely is getting hot in here! Introducing to you, the Air Jordan Retro XIV "Black Toes"! First off, these have some serious history behind them (which will be covered below), but I wanted to give you my memories of these kicks. Ever since middle school, I've been a fan of the XIVs. Seeing the kids sporting these flashy shoes with the black toes and red accents, I could only dream of them back then. As I got older and able to afford them, I bought these without a hesitation in my mind this year. I love everything about these shoes; the streamlined body, the black suede toe, the high-rise back side with those ginormous "23's" plastered on the back, nothing can compare. I was extremely glad that this year's release of the Black Toes was an ode to the 1998 original release and NOT the ugly perforated ones from 2006. All in all, I am in love with this pair, and so should you. Just a little known fact, there are 7 Jumpman logos on each shoe, which in total is 14 like the order of which this was released. Please check out the pics below and please try not to drool on your keyboard, not a good look.

Front shot, streamlined.

Side profilin'.

The side profile of these shoes is just ridiculous. Love the architecture, style, and flow of the shoe.

Red accents, tail lights, rear tire treads on the bottoms, and the iconic "23's" slapping you in the face.

XIV.

Black suede toe with red Jumpman accents to finish the look.

Jumpman shield, an ode to Ferrari.

Burning rubber.

These shoes looking like they're about to zoom down the road.

Love at first sight.

Michael Jordan Forever...The Last Shot.

Inspired by Michael Jordan's Ferrari, this pair of shoes are not only sleek, but an integral part of Michael's legacy. As the last pair ever worn by Michael during his stint with the Bulls, these shoes are the lasting imprint of what Bulls fans and basketball fans all over the world remember Michael at his best. During the 1998 NBA Finals, Michael wore the 14's against the Utah Jazz. Considered as one of the best players of his generation and beyond, Michael hit the game winning shot against Byron Russell in Game 6 of the Finals in this iconic pair. Although he went on to play for the Wizards after his stint with the Bulls, the basketball world had forever cemented their image of Michael in what they dubbed the "Last Shot". Beautiful, poetic, and quite possibly the most emotional shot of Michael I have ever seen, the 14's and the man himself will forever be linked to his greatness in that photo. Michael symbolizes everything about the game that only true ballers and fans can appreciate; dedication, hard work, passion, and above all else, LOVE. Thank you Michael.

Michael only wore the all black 14's during his career.

Unstoppable.

Michael would go on to score 45 points in game 6 of the Finals.
The Steal.

The "Last Shot".

Victory.

Six.

Champs once again, and MVP once again.

Celebrating with his partner in crime.

The boys and their hardware.

Michael and his 6 championship rings.

  1. Awesome post! I like the fine details of the XIV's and the fact that there are 14 jump men. Was it really his last shot? He said not to laugh when he's playing at 50. Haha.

    1. Thanks man! It was his last shot as a Chicago Bull and the cementing of his legacy. Man I bet Michael could play at 50, with that pure jumper of his. We all know the mid-range is a lost art in the NBA today. Appreciate the comments bro! :)
